Whether you live in the shadow of Mt Shasta, you’d like to attend one of our events, or you’re just passing through, you are welcome to visit the altar of the Mt Shasta Goddess Temple, which is kept at The Sacred Well shop in Dunsmuir. When you visit, please feel free to light a candle on our altar for your intentions and chat with us about upcoming events.

Hotels/Lodging

Air BnB is one of the most popular choices for local accommodations, with options for nearly every budget. This is an especially good resource for lodging in Mt Shasta city.

Mossbrae Hotel is Dunsmuir’s newest luxury venue, with 5 elegant rooms in the cute downtown area of this quiet, outdoors-y community perched right above the Pacific Crest Trail.

Traveling on a budget? The Cedar Lodge and Cave Springs, both in Dunsmuir, offer affordable choices only a 15-minute drive from the both Mt Shasta and McCloud.

McCloud River Inn is a beautiful turn-of-the-century building with breakfast included, in the heart of McCloud.

McCloud Hotel has comfortable rooms and two wonderful restaurants, Sage (fine dining) and the Axe and Rose (gastropub).

McCloud Mercantile Inn is often booked well in advance because it’s so gorgeous! Really nicely restored old building with lots of character.

Stoney Brook Inn, owned by Hiromi Suzuki, is an elegant landmark and offers helpful service with special attention for Japanese-speakers. 日本語

Shasta Inn is a popular, rustic, reasonably-priced hotel with Tesla charging stations.

Bringing your pop-up or family camper? Check out the McCloud RV Park.

Basic Camping close to nature: bring a tent, pack-in and pack-out water and personal necessities, and enjoy the pristine wild energy of the forest at Red Fir Flat campground.

If you prefer to cook at home in your Air BnB or at your campsite, fresh food and all the fixings are available at Ray’s Food Place, Berryvale Natural Market, and Mt Shasta Supermarket all conveniently located in Mt Shasta. The IGA in Dunsmuir is a tiny but functional stop for staples and road food.

In Dunsmuir

The Wheelhouse is our absolute favorite place for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Dunsmuir Brewery Works grows their own hops and offers unique, hearty choices.

We love the Mexican fare at La Perla de Nayarit, a local, family-owned business.

Sengthongs Blue Sky Room offers a fantastic taste of Laos and Thailand on weekend nights.

Yak’s on the 5 is home to the most unique burgers you’ve ever seen. Plus they make their own lavender ketchup!

Café Maddalena is a Siskiyou County gem, with seasonal and improvisational menus cooked in an open kitchen. Reservations recommended.

In Mt Shasta

Seven Suns and Yak’s are popular coffee spots in Mt Shasta for morning brew and simple snacks.

Bistro 107 is a chic spot with beer specials and local offerings.

Mike & Tony’s serves up great Italian food in a cozy, family-style setting.

Lily’s is an upscale farmhouse restaurant with French and American standards.

Black Bear Diner is classic Americana with big portions and good hours.

Hari Om Shri Ram serves the only Indian food in town, so leave plenty of time.

Phuket Thai has a delicious selection for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores.

Sparky’s Landing is a busy venue with great family comfort food.

Clearwater Coffee & Kitchen gets your engine going in the morning.

McCloud Meat Market & Tavern is a carnivore’s paradise with some tasty specials and brews on tap.

Axe & Rose is our favorite gastro pub. Try the brussels sprouts!
