Lapis Philosophorum Isis Alchemy Class August 2024
I have opened registration for my new 7-day class that will take place at the end of August: Lapis Philosophorum. This class is an exploration of the Goddess Isis and her myths, with an eye toward her alchemical power of heka. Details are at this link, or scroll down to read more.
This Alchemical Isis class marks a significant turning in the work of my Goddess Mandala. For over 20 years I have been working with the Goddesses we honor in this Temple. There are 12 Goddesses in the Mandala, one for each month of the year. Each of these Goddesses represents a minimum of one year (in most cases, more) of my research and personal devotional work. With the launch of this Isis class in August, I have created and dedicated a unique body of work for all of these 12 Goddesses, including classes, projects, writings, and services that draw upon the history and mythos of each one. To come to the end of this longterm project for these Goddesses means that a certain phase of my Priestesshood is now complete, and leaves me free to develop new aspirations and create new bodies of work in Goddess scholarship and practice. It feels pretty great to reflect on 20 years of these devotional creations, and wow, time has flown by!
From August 25-31, The Mt Shasta Goddess Temple will engage in a 7-day class and pathworking to call upon Isis as Mistress of Magic, as Alchemist, to help us transform energies that are stuck, locked, or trapped in our lives from lead into gold. Every day for 7 days during our devotional week we will:
study the iconic stories of Isis, including her parentage, her marriage to Osiris, her role as mother to Horus, her power of heka, and her role as Goddess of 10,000 Names;
learn about the 7 essential alchemical processes for the transformation of lead into gold: Calcination, Dissolution, Separation, Conjunction, Fermentation, Distillation, and Coagulation;
take deep dives with meditations and personal rituals to connect with Isis and her power to create change;
build and expand a working shrine for Isis over the course of the week, compose prayers to her, and create talismans in her honor;
work honestly with open hearts on the sensitive areas in our lives where we have been stuck, either knowingly or unknowingly, and welcome these aspects of our lives into the process of death and rebirth;
study historic Temples and shrines of Isis, the march of her worship across the ancient world, and learn about how Isis gradually went from being a throne protector of the Pharaoh to one of the most popular Goddesses of all time.
